GravesBook is a private, local-first personal checkbook and register application for Windows 10 and 11, published by GravesWare, LLC. It performs single-entry accounting — a checkbook register, not double-entry bookkeeping — with a proper two-sided bank reconciliation, scheduled transactions, a calendar, spreadsheet import, CSV export, printing of the register and reports, and charted reports.
All financial data is stored locally in a passphrase-encrypted SQLite (SQLCipher) database. This version of GravesBook contains no network code: it does not transmit data, does not collect analytics, and does not report crashes to anyone. If the passphrase is lost, the data is unrecoverable — there is no backdoor and no recovery mechanism. See the Privacy Statement for the full detail and the User Agreement for the terms of use.
About GravesWare, LLC
GravesWare, LLC builds genuinely useful software that does not collect more than it needs — which, in practice, means it collects nothing. No telemetry, no tracking, no data harvesting. You install it, you own it, and nothing you do inside it leaves your machine. GravesWare is independent and self-funded, built deliberately, one release at a time.
Other GravesWare software: GravesMail, a local-first, privacy-first email client, and GravesPDF, a PDF reader and editor. See gravesware.com for the full catalog.
Third-party notices
Every third-party package GravesBook ships with is listed below with its pinned version and its license, verified against each package’s published NuGet license metadata. All are permissive (MIT or Apache-2.0) per project policy — no GPL, LGPL, AGPL, or source-available/commercial packages.
Full license text for any package below is available at licenses.nuget.org/MIT and licenses.nuget.org/Apache-2.0.

Notes on dependency choices
- Reports charting was switched from LiveChartsCore.SkiaSharpView.WPF (a pre-release, Skia/OpenTK-backed library) to OxyPlot.Wpf 2.2.0 — stable, pure managed WPF, with no native rendering layer. Its MIT license was confirmed from the package’s own nuspec before it was added.
- SQLitePCLRaw.bundle_e_sqlcipher is the prebuilt SQLCipher-capable provider bundle (Apache-2.0), used specifically so that no native SQLCipher rebuild or toolchain is required to build GravesBook.
- ClosedXML (MIT) was chosen over NPOI (Apache-2.0) for spreadsheet import: a simpler, more idiomatic .NET API for the lenient cell-level reading this feature needs, handling mixed real-date and text-date cells and currency-formatted text amounts. Its transitive dependency set was individually license-checked before it was added — all MIT except SixLabors.Fonts, which is Apache-2.0 at the pinned 1.0.0. The version pin there is deliberate, not incidental.
